My favourite show: Who wants to be a millionaire (WWTBAM) ?!
Host: Günther Jauch in the German show and Regis Philbin in the English show.
The Show: In order to win a million Euros (in USA Dollars) you must give the right answer to all 15 questions.
If you don't know the answer to a question, you can use a joker or else you can leave with the money of the last question you have answered correctly. If your answer isn't right, you go back down to 16000, 500 or 0 Euros/Dollars. And that's the whole game.
The 3 Jokers:
Fifty-Fifty = 50:50 : That means that 2 wrong answers are wiped away.
The telephone joker: You call a friend and read the question and the possible answers to him/her. Your friend tells you then what he/she thinks. For this phone call, you have only 30 seconds.
The audience joker: The audience can answer the question. They press the A, B, C or D button. The host and the candidate see how many percent pressed button A, B, C or D. The answer with the highest percentage might be the right answer.
NEW! The extra joker: The stand up audience joker.
One person from the audience stands up and answers the question. The candidate can trust his/her answer or not. You can only get that joker if you play the risk variation. This means that you don't have the 16000 Euro step, so if you give the wrong answer you fall back to 500 Euros. No matter how much higher than 16000 Euros you are.
